Members of the Tyrolean Parliament
The members of the Tyrolean Parliament are not bound to a particular course of action (principle of independent mandate) but are only responsible to the rule of law and their own conscience.
Moreover, the members of the Tyrolean Parliament are protected by legal immunity. This means that members can never be brought to account for their voting record and are only accountable to Parliament for any oral or written comments made in the performance of their duties. Furthermore, criminal proceedings can only be initiated against MPs under certain circumstances.
