Regional Audit Office
The Regional Audit Office was established on 1 March 2003 and is the successor to the Regional Surveillance Office. It is an independent body of the Tyrolean Parliament that supports the latter with reports and recommendations.
It is the duty of the Regional Audit Office to check the use of public funds in terms of numerical accuracy, legality, economy, efficiency and effectiveness. This is operational auditing.
The Regional Audit Office sees itself as a body that provides advice and support to audited offices and political decision-makers. It is an independent body that employs top specialists to produce objective reports, point out shortcomings and submit suggestions for improvement.
